I've had this unit for a few years and it is extremely convenient to have a jump start unit that actually works. I had a dead boat battery and used a fully charged Wal Mart charger and it would not spin the engine (Merc 260, 5.7 liter) fast enough to start. But the JNC 660 did and saved the day. But the best use I get out of the unit is during September PSU football games.... we use the JNC 660 and a power inverter to power a regular household blender to make frozen margaritas and daiquiris! The JNC 660 makes more frozen drinks on one charge than we can consume. Now that's versatile!

This unit is not an entry level unit. It is the unit preferred by the majority of professional technicians in North America and has made its reputation as an exceptionally durable jump starter that provides extreme power, as noted by another commenter. It features the Clore PROFORMER battery, specifically designed for vehicle jump starting, and packs 425 CA (1700 Peak Amps) of jump starting power.

Please note that the ES6000 utilizes dual high performance 22 amp hour ES Series batteries, not 17 amp hour batteries. While amp hours and starting power do not have a direct correlation, it is important to clarify the battery amp hour rating. The ES6000 delivers 800 CA of starting power and 3000 Peak Amps of starting power. For the record, it also features automatic charging and #4 AWG cables.

I own the jump and carry 660. I have jumped buses with the Cummings ISM (high compression) engine with this thing. If this jumper doesn't make your motor crank then you have another problem besides a dead battery.
